Changing Seasons

The weather says it's summer, but everything we've been doing is saying it's fall.

We had a busy second week of school with me trying to catch up from being gone over the weekend and the kids getting accustomed to a new schedule. Ben is still driving in to work three days a week and then working at home on Thursday and Friday. It's nice to have him home on those days.

Sam has a work meeting here in Houston on Tuesday, so he took the opportunity to come down early to spend time with us and his brother who lives nearby. It's been nice having him here. We wish we had Brielan here too!

We've all been staying busy with chores, errands, and a few jobs for the laser business. Rohan and Savitri started up soccer at the YMCA again yesterday. He is assistant coaching three age groups, and she is playing on the 12-13 year old team.

The boys and the boy cousins played Age of Empires for hours this weekend and last. They are determined to beat the bots--or something like that. We are just glad they are enjoying time together.

Halloween preparations have started in earnest. We are doing a Hocus Pocus theme this year for the first time, so there is a lot to do. Here's a sneak peek of the early stages.
