We Love You Grandpa Butler

This is one of my favorite photos of Ben's dad, Robert Bruce Butler. He passed away last week, only a few days before his 75th birthday and a few days after he attended his youngest child's wedding. We are so grateful we got to see him then, because we had to fly back the next week for his funeral. We will miss him a lot.

Mom accepted a flag from a serviceman at the burial site since Dad had served in the military.

We were able to have some family time together too. Bruce liked riding Grandpa's recumbent bike.

Grandma reminded Savitri how to play pinochle.

And Edwin pulled out his very popular cotton candy machine at a family dinner.

On the way home we stopped by to see Brielan, but she wasn't home, so we said hi to her doorstep instead.

It was a fast weekend, but not all of it was sad. We rejoice in knowing we will see Dad again after this life, and we are grateful for his love and example. We love you Grandpa Butler.
