Katie and I were able to have a couple of play dates this week. We had lots of fun playing our own version of Connect Four using our toes.
Eighth grade, the last grade in our middle school, had its award ceremony this week. Bruce got an award for all A's and for being the best office aide. He was also nominated for best 8th grade boy. He's been working hard this year. Good job, Brucie!
Savitri got to play with her friends' dog this week and she was so happy. She wishes we could have a pet, but we have too many allergies in our house. Both she and Bruce have sworn to have their own pets when they grow up.
Bruce took one of his long, complicated board games to a church game night and found some kindred spirits to play it with. While we were there, Ben took Rohan and Savitri to see the new Dr. Strange movie.
Our Saturday mornings in summer are always taken up by swim meets. I took photos for the team again this week. Rohan was sick and didn't swim, but Savitri and Bruce both swam hard.
And in between races they played hard. You will notice Bruce is not wearing his usual team jammers to swim in. When we were more than halfway to the far-away meet, he suddenly said, "Mom! I forgot to put on my swim shorts!" I dropped him off, hurried to a close Walmart, and found him some trunks. He missed the warmups but made it to all his races.
