More Chairs, Fewer Stairs.

We spent most of last week in New York City. We saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, and Savitri and Ben went to see The Lion King.

We also took a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, visited Battery Park, and the 9/11 museum. Ben got to visit the famous bull statue on Wall Street too.

We walked A LOT. Other places we visited were the American Museum of Natural History, the NY Public Library (where we saw lots of beautiful architecture, but no books. Turns out the books were across the street in another building.), the Lego store on 5th Avenue, an open air bus tour of the city, Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. Whew!

We also ate out a lot. I'm glad to be home, so we can have home cooked food again. And rest our feet. There were very few places to sit in the places we visited and loads of stairs to climb on the subway, in the museums, to the restaurants. You name it, there were stairs.

Another highlight of the trip was getting to see my best friend Aisha and  meeting her husband for the first time. They have been married for more than 20 years, so it was about time. They stopped by the hotel to say hi. Aisha and Jason run a Jamaican restaurant in NYC and live in New Jersey. We didn't get a chance to sample the fare, unfortunately.

The main reason for the trip to New York was so that Ben and Clark could go to a LightBurn conference. It's the software they use for wood lasering. Ben stayed an extra day to meet up with Clark and do that while the rest of us headed home on Saturday morning.

We had a great time, but we missed Rohan being with us on our adventures. He had district conference last week.
