We flew to Syracuse, New York, the day after Christmas to spend a few days in a rental house with Mummy, Clark, Brie, Sam, and the doggies. The kids were excited for lots of snow.
We played games and ate lots of good Grammy-made food.
On the 27th we were able to visit Palmyra, New York, where we visited the Grandin printing press and book store and the old Smith homestead. In the homestead is the site of the Sacred Grove, where Joseph Smith had the First Vision. It was special to us to visit the spot where he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ more than 200 years ago.
The printing press is where the first 5,000 copies of The Book of Mormon were printed. We got to go on a tour and see how they made books back then, and we saw a Book of Mormon from the original printing.
On New Year's Day we were able to talk to Rohan and he played us a hymn or two on his new guitar. He's doing really well and says thanks for all the packages and well wishes.
