Otherwise known as cake season, these two weeks where both Bruce and Savitri have birthdays are always busy and always fun for the kids.
We celebrated Bruce's birthday on Sunday with the cousins. Aunt Susan made him a yummy coconut tres leches cake.
We had Savitri's party with her friends yesterday. It was her golden birthday! So, of course, she wanted everything to be gold.
Our friend, and Savitri's youth leader from Church made her a lovely vanilla and chocolate cake with golden macarons on top. And we had a golden pinata. Ben attached it to the wall at first, but then we thought it might be better on the ladder.
It was too hot to go outside. Both the kids and the candy would have melted instantly.
Before all the birthday madness, we were able to go to one of our favorite spots we like to call the River Beach at Pundt Park, since we had Monday off for Labor Day. The river was really low since we haven't had rain in months.
Savitri's actual birthday is on Tuesday, and then we will celebrate it again with the Joneses on Sunday. Yay for cake!
