A Weekend in Dallas

So, after all the hype about the eclipse on Monday, we saw absolutely nothing. Well, except clouds. We saw lots of clouds. It did get a little darker and colder, but besides that, we sat on the driveway having fun together even without the eclipse.

And then later that day, Rohan chased Savitri around the house with a watermelon. You never know what's going to happen next at our house.

Savitri, Lindy, and their Destination Imagination team competed in Service Learning at the State finals this weekend in Dallas. Basically, their group did a community service project and then they had to make up and perform a play about it. They didn't qualify for globals, but they did a really good job and had a good time. Savitri dressed like an old granny in a bathrobe and shower cap for her part.

Ben and I went to watch the awards ceremony in the Globe Life arena. It was huge! And the roof is the kind that opens up to make an open-air stadium.

We also had some time when the kids didn't need us, so we explored Dallas a little and went to the Dallas temple. There were Texas Bluebonnets and other wildflowers all along the highway.
