Hot Springs, Arkansas

 We got to spend spring break in Arkansas at a cute Airbnb near Hot Springs National Park.

The park is more like a city, with a few walks, and no actual hot springs to bathe in. If you want to soak in the hot spring water, you have to go to a bath house. We didn't, but we did stop by the fountains dyed green for St. Patrick's Day and by the two spots where you can touch the hot spring water.

There are tons of cool murals throughout the town. We also hiked to the top of a hill to a tower for a view of the whole area. It was chilly.

We found a food truck court for lunch. It was raining, but that didn't stop Bruce and Rohan from playing ping pong and eating some good southern food.

When we recovered from our hike (some of us needed more recovery time than others), we headed to pirate mini golf.

On Wednesday, we went to Crater of the Diamonds state park. It had rained the day before and the ground was sooooo muddy. The kind of mud that sucks your shoes off. So of course, I fell out of my shoe and onto my behind and got all muddy. Also, we didn't find any diamonds, but we got some cool rocks in the gift shop and had lots of fun digging and sifting.

Garvan Gardens was our Thursday adventure. It was spectacular. Tulips, daffodils, and other flowers bloomed everywhere we went, and it was a beautiful spring day. There was a huge tree house to climb in, lots of rocks to climb on (Bruce loved that), waterfalls, bridges, a miniature train garden, and my favorite, a fairy garden. 

Afterward we went to a fun place with go karts, bumper boats, mini golf, and an arcade. The kids were pretty wet after the bumper boats. They had water guns on the boats.

On Friday it was rainy again, so we went bowling. Rohan smoked us all. By A LOT.

We really loved our country stay in Arkansas. It was a fantastic spring break.
