Fall Festivities

Fall is upon us. The kids are getting ready for Halloween festivities.

We saw lots of dressed up folk at the Renaissance Festival last weekend. Pirates mostly, since it was pirate weekend.

And we participated in some authentic medieval activities like storming the castle,

pottery making,

and eating chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick.

There were also elephant rides,

dragons

and sword fighting.

There were some real elephants, but we didn't want to ride them, so we found some suitable substitutes. The kids all came home with bows and arrows and practiced until it was dark outside, using a cardboard box for target practice.
